After Massive Fire, Demolition Begins For West Broadway Buildings
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Demolition has begun on buildings in north Minneapolis destroyed by a massive fire in April.
The fire destroyed a stretch of businesses on West Broadway, resulting in more than a dozen people losing their home.
Two of the buildings have now been demolished. An organization that worked out of one of them says the buildings were too badly damaged to salvage.
Building owners had until the end of June to submit plans to rehab the buildings, or they would be torn down.
Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. They're asking for tips from the public to help solve the crime.
