Talking Points: Klobuchar On Biden, Hillary's Falling Numbers

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) -- The latest poll from Iowa shows support for Hillary Clinton is slipping.

The Des Moines Register poll shows Clinton with 37 percent of the vote – that's down from a high near 60 percent just a few months ago.

Meanwhile, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders has gained 30 percent of the vote.

With a margin of plus or minus 4.9 percent, that puts Clinton and Sanders in a statistical dead heat.

Clinton's sliding poll numbers have some Democrats wondering if Vice President Joe Biden will enter the race.

That prospect puts key Democrats like Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who are already supporting Clinton, in a tough position.

Klobuchar was a guest on WCCO Sunday Morning from the Minnesota State Fair.

"Vice President Biden is a friend of mine," she said on the show. "He has come out several times to Minnesota and he is going to make his own decision based on his own circumstances and his family, but again I think you are going to see Hillary Clinton be strong in this race."

The Des Moines Register poll has Biden's support at 14 percent.

Most political experts agree if Biden is going to jump in, he''ll have to do it very soon in order to raise money and get a campaign organization off the ground.
