Sheriff: Body Of Bemidji Man Found Floating In Miss. River
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Beltrami County Coroner's Office has ruled the death of a Bemidji man found floating in the Mississippi River Saturday as accidental.
The body of 65-year-old Francis Normen Smith was found floating face down in weeds about 10 feet from the shore of the river between Lake Irvine and Lake Bemidji.
The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office says Smith's badly-decomposed body was recovered with the help of the Bemidji Fire Department.
Smith had apparently been camping nearby, and did not have a permanent address.
