MDH: 3 Dementia Patients Sexually Abused At Senior Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A staff member at a Sartell, Minnesota, senior home is accused of sexually abusing three clients with dementia.

On multiple occasions, Welcome Home Health Care Inc. employees saw the staff member inappropriately touch and make comments about clients' genitals.

The employees said they reported the incidents to a higher-up.

But while the administrative nursing staff member was aware of one of the abuse allegations, they failed to "thoroughly investigate protect clients or report the allegations as required," according to a report from the Minnesota Department of Health.

The alleged abuser wasn't suspended until law enforcement began investigating the incident, 35 days after the alleged abuse.
