2 Minnesota Motorcyclists Hurt In Pierce County (Wis.) Crashes
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two motorcyclists were hurt Saturday in separate crashes in western Wisconsin, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say the first crash happened at about 11:20 a.m. on 300th Ave. east of 650th St. in Hartland Township. A motorcycle headed eastbound being operated by a 35-year-old woman from Kasson, Minn., overturned on the roadway after the driver lost control going around a curve.
Authorities say the driver was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash. The Pierce County Sheriff's Office says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
At about 5:55 p.m. Saturday, authorities responded to a motorcycle accident with injuries on County Highway A about two miles south of Highway 10 in Salem Township. Authorities say a 42-year-old woman from St. Paul Park was operating her Yamaha motorcycle northbound on County Highway A when she was negotiating a curve in the roadway and lost control.
The motorcycle left the roadway, entered the ditch and the woman was ejected. She was taken to a hospital with undetermined injuries.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Ellsworth Ambulance and the Ellsworth Fire Department.
