Man, 18, Charged In Fatal Shooting In Downtown Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — An 18-year-old man has been charged in a Fourth of July weekend shooting in downtown Minneapolis that killed a teenager and injured another man.

Dejon Frazier of Burnsville was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder in the death of 16-year-old Sabrae Mcalester. He's also charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Authorities say officers on foot patrol heard gunshots and saw a crowd running from the area near a bus shelter near Fourth Street and Hennepin Avenue around 2 a.m. July 5.

Prosecutors say video footage shows Frazier and Mcalester in two groups that were arguing. Mcalester was shot in the head and later died, and a 24-year-old man was shot in the thigh as he left a bar.

It wasn't immediately clear if Frazier has an attorney.
