Funeral Set For 3 Children Killed In Mpls. Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Funeral services have been set for the three children killed in a north Minneapolis house fire last Saturday evening.

The family's pastor, Pastor Harding Smith, says the funeral for 6-year-old Latorious, 5-year-old Latora and 1-year-old Latorianna will be held at Elim Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m.

Smith also says the fire crew that took the three bodies out of the fire will be there, along with Minneapolis Fire Chief John Fruetel.

Minneapolis fire crews responded to the fire just before midnight Saturday. When they searched the home, they found three children. Two were already dead and the third died at the hospital.

The fire took about an hour to extinguish. The cause of the fire has since been deemed undetermined, but the investigation continues.

There is a memorial fund set up for the family -- the Stewart Family Memorial Fund -- at Wells Fargo.
