Local Music Tap: 4 Shows To See This Week(end)

From a pop rock album release in St. Paul to a massive zombie party, here are the four local music shows and events to check out this weekend.

FRIDAY: Little Fevers' Album Release @ Turf Club, St. Paul

Minneapolis-based pop rockers, Little Fevers, are having a good old fashioned album release party this Friday at the Turf Club! There, they'll debut their new album "Field Trip", which also happens to be their previous band name.

Other performers include Bones & Beeker and Matt Latterell. The fun begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

FRIDAY: Scottie Miller Band CD Release @ Dakota Jazz Club, Minneapolis

Funk-blues pianist Scottie Miller is back with his ninth self-produced CD, "Reciprocation." If you love the sounds of a Wurlitzer electric piano, Hammond organ and heavy guitar, there'll be more than you can handle at the Dakota on Saturday.

Music begins around 8 p.m. with tickets costing $10.

SATURDAY: Zombie Pub Crawl @ Downtown Minneapolis' Warehouse District

The zombie hoard is shuffling its way to downtown Minneapolis this Saturday, where much beer – errr, I mean, "brains" -- will be consumed and great music will be heard, somehow, from those decaying ears!

There's plenty of national acts, including Girl Talk, Seven Lions, Sum 41 (what??), Soulja Boy & Lil Dicky. But there will be plenty of local acts taking the stage too, including The 4onthefloor, Tickle Torture, and on the metal spectrum: Dumpster Juice, Impaler, Witchden and Mastiff.

So, if you dare (and have purchased tickets), you'll find the zombie party located on 1st Avenue, between 6th and 3rd streets.

SUNDAY: Dr. Mambo's Combo @ Bunker's Music Bar & Grill, Minneapolis

For many, Dr. Mambo's Combo is a Sunday tradition at Bunker's Music bar! For $7 you get a whole heap of rock/R&B talent. Maybe it can become a tradition for you …
