Vikings Sign LB Jason Trusnick, Place Audie Cole On IR

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday they've placed linebacker Audie Cole on season-ending injured reserve and signed linebacker Jason Trusnick.

Cole is out for the rest of the season after breaking his ankle during Sunday's win over the St. Louis Rams. He finished the season with three tackles and was a fixture on special teams.

Trusnick, in his ninth NFL season, joins the Vikings after being released by the Carolina Panthers during final roster cuts at the start of the season. He originally signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent after the 2007 NFL Draft.

In 2011, he signed with the Miami Dolphins and spent four seasons there. He appeared in 64 games with nine starts. In 109 career games that include 24 starts, Trusnick has recorded 146 tackles, four fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
