St. Paul Bunny Could Be Trix's Next 'Silly Rabbit'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Earlier this year, General Mills announced it is dropping artificial colors and flavors from more of its cereals, including Trix.

To go along with its real ingredients, the company announced it wants a real bunny to replace the cartoon rabbit on the cereal box.

The opened up a three-week casting call.

The winner will be dubbed the "Real Trix Rabbit," and will be on a limited run of boxes in its hometown.

One of the entries is from the Twin Cities -- Cricket and her owner Julie Doneux live in St. Paul. They entered the contest with the help of a volunteer-based, non-profit group called the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society.
