Officers Fire Weapon At Vehicle After Pursuit In North Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An officer fired at a suspects vehicle after a pursuit in north Minneapolis Saturday evening, according to a statement from Minneapolis Police.

Authorities say the incident began at around 7 p.m. when officers pulled a car over on Golden Valley Road and Upton Avenue North in response to a report of shots fired. The vehicle fled, and officers pursued.

Police say the suspect vehicle eventually stopped, and officers approached it on foot. According to the statement from police, the vehicle then backed up at officers, one of whom felt himself in imminent danger and fired his weapon, hitting only the car.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked at Hennepin County Jail. Police say no one was injured in the incident.
