Delta: No More Pets As Checked Baggage
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Dogs may be man's best friend, but they are no longer allowed to be your travel companion on Delta.
The airline just announced it will no longer accept pets as checked baggage.
Pets can still travel in the passenger cabin if they are small enough to fit in a kennel that can slide underneath the seat in front of the pet owner. Otherwise, they will have to travel in a kennel through Delta cargo on a separate plane.
Exceptions to the new rule include military members as well as service animals.
The policy change will start next March.
