Minneapolis School Board Holds Out On Approving New Superintedent
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Board of Education is suspending contract negotiations with the district's next superintendent while it investigates abuse allegations.
The school board voted last week to name Dr. Sergio Paez the district's next superintendent. Paez comes from Holyoke Public Schools in Massachusetts.
Since then, allegations about the treatment of special education students in the district have surfaced.
The Board of Education said it will continue with a site visit to Massachusetts this Friday and gather more information before finalizing a contract with Dr. Paez.
