St. Paul City Council Passes Anti-Donald Trump Resolution

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul's city council has voted in favor of passing an amendment condemning what they call "anti-Muslim, anti-refugee and anti-immigrant speech" from Donald Trump.

The mostly-symbolic resolution, which passed six votes to one Wednesday afternoon, omitted an aspect of Ward 1 Councilmember Dai Thao's original draft -- which ultimately sought to unwelcome Trump from St. Paul.

Trump does not have any scheduled appearances in Minnesota in the near future.

Fellow GOP candidate Sen. Ted Cruz will be holding a rally Thursday evening at St. Paul's Harriet Island Pavilion.

And Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton was at the University of Minnesota Tuesday to outline her plan to fight terrorism.
