St. Paul Meter Enforcement Suspended For One Day Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you were thinking about heading to St. Paul this weekend, Saturday is the day to do it!

St. Paul Public Works announced that enforcement of all meters in the city will be suspended for 24 hours on Saturday, January 2, 2016.

The suspension is so public works can transition meter pay stations to follow the new enforcement hours and rates.

The new enforcement hours will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sundays will remain free.

The new rates are $2 an hour from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and $1 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The rates for event park will chagnge as well. Near the Xcel Energy Center it will be $3.75 an hour to park. Near CHS Field it will be $2.50 an hour.

But, if you're heading that way on Saturday, get there early.

With the suspension of enforcement on street parking, all event parking rates will be implemented at ramps and lots in the downtown area.
