Meet One Of The 1st Babies Of 2016!
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Twin Cities boy could not wait to greet the new year!
Miles Ruddy is one of the first babies born in 2016.
His mother, Melissa, gave birth at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park at about 12:05 a.m. Friday.
She survived ovarian cancer in 2008 and had one of her ovaries removed -- so this Baby New Year is extra special.
"Having the opportunity to have kids and then have natural births, not having to have cesareans or anything like that, is a huge miracle," Melissa said.
Her new-year wish is for both of her children to have long, cancer-free lives.
Melissa says Miles' big sister is already talking about becoming a doctor.
