2015 Sees Highest Boat-Related Fatalities In A Decade
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota ended 2015 with its highest number of boating deaths in a decade.
The DNR said there were 18 boating-related deaths last year. The Star Tribune reports that's the most since 23 people died in 2005.
Officials said it's an unfortunate by-product of ideal spring, summer and fall weather that drew boaters out in large numbers.
Most of the deaths were the result of drownings.
