Midtown Global Market's Soup Cook-Off A Welcome Treat In Frigid Temps

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It was a soup-er exciting day at the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis Saturday.

It was the 9th annual soup cook-off. People had the chance to sample nine soup recipes crafted by the chefs of the market, then voted for their favorite.

Jakeeno's came in 1st with its tomato basil soup. Sabbai Cuisine's chicken red curry soup came in 2nd and Fresco's Pasta bar was third with a sausage potato kale soup.

The event also raised more than $800 for MIGIZI Communications -- a nonprofit providing information technology to the American Indian Community.
