Minneapolis, St. Paul Declare Snow Emergencies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As a storm dumped heavy snow on the Twin Cities metro Tuesday afternoon, both Minneapolis and St. Paul declared snow emergencies.

WCCO-TV meteorologist Matt Brickman says the metro area looks to see anywhere from 4-8 inches of snow after the clouds move out overnight. In the meantime, however, winds will be strong, making for hazardous driving conditions.

"If you can avoid driving [during the evening commute], you're going to want to," Brickman said. "Leave work now and get away from some of the worst weather, because that's when the winds will really start to kick up."

Below is information on the snow emergencies in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
