President Of St. Paul's Red House Records To Retire

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The president of Red House Records is retiring after three decades at the St. Paul-based folk and Americana music label.

Red House on Wednesday announced the retirement of Eric Peltoniemi. Peltoniemi has led Red House for the past decade, since the death of founder Bob Feldman in 2006.

Peltoniemi calls his retirement a "bittersweet decision," but says it's the right time.

The Red House roster includes The Cactus Blossoms, honky-tonk singer Dale Watson and ex-Jefferson Airplane guitarist Jorma Kaukonen.

Peltoniemi joined Feldman in the fledgling label in 1985. The 66-year-old also has a career writing for musical theater as well as a recording career in Finland.

Red House Records owner Beth Friend, who is Feldman's widow, will become president and CEO.
