Tap Talk: East Lake Craft Brewery Hosts Taco Throwdown

This Sunday, get some pork with your porter.

For the first time ever, East Lake Craft Brewery is hosting a Taco Throwdown.

The Minneapolis brewery, located inside Midtown Global Market, will act as host as three market vendors compete for the title of "Taco of the Town."

Hot Indian Foods, Manny's Tortas and Taco Cat will bring their taco creations to be sampled and judged from 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Diners and drinkers will get the chance to taste each of the three tacos and then vote for their favorite. At the end, a winner will be named.

Hot Indian Foods brings its pork vindaloo with roti taco. Manny's is presenting a carne asada azul taco. And Taco Cat comes with a bop taco.

Tickets for the Taco Throwdown cost $25. The price includes a taco from each vendor, as well as two beers from East Lake Craft Brewery and a commemorative pint glass.

For those under 21, or who aren't drinking, tickets cost $20. Soda or kombucha is available in place of the beer.

A donation of $5 from each ticket will be given to the Division of Indian Horizon Unlimited Food Program, a local food shelf that helps low-income urban American Indian families.

For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit East Lake Craft Brewery online.

May the best taco win.
