Deputies Bust Major Marijuana Grow House In Western Wis.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Deputies in western Wisconsin say they've made a rare find. They've busted what appears to be a grow-house right in the middle of town.

It happened on a main street in Somerset.  That's north of Hudson in St. Croix County.

There are fewer than 3,000 people in Somerset, Wis. Captain Jeff Klatt is with the St. Croix Sheriff's Office.

"I would say the ones that we've usually found were a little more out of town," Klatt said.

Captain Klatt's talking about grow-houses for marijuana, and they have reason to believe until recently a home on Wisconsin State Highway 35 was one of them. Deputies say not only did they find plants in the home, there were 18 in the garage.

About 30 of them total, according to the complaint, photos show some of the plants that were up to three feet tall. The complaint says there was soil, all types of equipment and at least four guns spread through the house and a "dry erase board with 2013 costs for grow operation."

Officers found the plants after doing some ground level imaging outside the home in early February.

"Similar to what the fire department uses with their imaging, they are trying to find hot spots in the house," Klatt said.

Officers arrested Cory Breault. He'll be arraigned in March.  Officers have the plants they call evidence from a house that has stopped growing.

Officers say the suspect's father owned the house. When they confronted the suspect, he cooperated and told them there was marijuana inside. He is out of jail on bond.
