Timberwolves Sign Greg Smith To 10-Day Contract

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves added depth to their front-court after buying out the contracts of guards Andre Miller and Kevin Martin.

The Timberwolves announced Wednesday they've signed forward/center Greg Smith to a 10-day contract. The team's roster stands at 14 players with Smith's signing.

He appeared in 16 games with the Raptors 905 of the NBA Developmental League this year and averaged 12.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game in more than 27 minutes. He shot 51 percent from the field.

Smith is a four-year NBA veteran with previous stops in Houston and Dallas. For his NBA career, he is averaging 4.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in about 12 minutes per game over 131 career contests. He's another player for the Wolves with Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Garnett both out nursing injuries.
