Reward Increased For Information On Eagan Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The reward for information on a truck involved in an Eagan hit-and-run that left a cyclist in critical condition has been raised to $5,000.

On March 8, Bryan Joas was struck while riding his bike home from work. A white pickup truck hit Joas from behind on 250th Street West near Highway Avenue in Eureka Township.

Several people nearby stopped to help Joas and called emergency crews. The truck kept going.

Joas was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

Joas underwent surgery on March 11, during which doctors removed 8 cm of his rectum.

He survived, but is still in critical condition.

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office offered at $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the driver of the white pickup. That reward has been increased to $5,000.

Dakota County officials are currently looking into some leads provided.
