And at least 20 cars were involved in a crash and pile up on Highway 280 just before the exit for Interstate 94 at about 8 a.m.

There is still snow on the roads in some areas, and many other places are wet and slick and may have black ice. The recent rains have likely washed away most of the chemicals on Minnesota roads.

Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says although snow showers will gradually end in most of the state by early Saturday afternoon, its effects will linger on for several more hours. More snow is also expected later in the week.
