Luke Ringhand had last been seen on video leaving the St. Mary’s University campus at about 4:30 a.m. Monday. Authorities said Wednesday Ringhand was located in the Chicago area and is safe.

The St. Mary’s University president issued a statement on the matter Wednesday.

“Luke’s family, as well as the entire Saint Mary’s community, give a prayer of thanks that Luke has been located and is safe,” Brother William Mann, president of Saint Mary’s University, said. “The response of our regional media, as well as our online communities in spreading the word, has been astounding. We especially appreciate the quick actions of law enforcement personnel. We are blessed to be a part of such a caring community.””
