Father, Pregnant Mother, 2-Year-Old Child Injured In Benton County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A crash in Benton County Saturday evening left a pregnant woman, her husband and their 2-year-old child injured, and a teenager facing charges, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say it happened at around 5:52 p.m. on County Road 2, just east of the Rice Bridge. Investigators found that a 16-year-old in a Ford Mustang was traveling westbound when he lost control and slid into the eastbound lane, hitting a Mazda station wagon carrying the young family. Police say the teen, the father, the mother and their child were all transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police charged the 16-year-old with careless driving and unsafe tires.
