36 Million Planning Home Renovations, Survey Says

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Americans seem to really like a good DIY project at home. A new survey shows 36 million homeowners plan to do some domicile renovation in the next year.

Bankrate.com says outside projects like driveways, decks, pools or landscaping are the most popular projects.

Beyond that, a number of people are planning new flooring or windows, roofing or siding.

While home ownership is the lowest among millennials, they are the most likely to plan home improvements than any other age group.

"It's refreshing to see, especially since it wasn't too long ago that the housing market crashed," Mike Cetera, Bankrate.com's personal loans and credit analyst, said.
