Warning: Check For Recall When Buying Toys, Kids Products Online
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Parents may think they're getting a deal when buying toys and other kid items second hand at flea markets or online, but some of those products could be dangerous.
Experts warn that thousands of dangerous or even deadly kids products are being sold second-hand after they were recalled.
Amazon and eBay use technology to block people from selling recalled items.
And while sites like Craigslist have policies in place, recalled items are often not flagged.
The pros say it's best to check expiration dates on car seats because they usually expire after six years.
Also, only buy cribs manufactured after June 2011, when the new safety standards went into effect.
