Where To Honor Prince In The Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Three days after his death, Prince fans continue to make pilgrimages to the locations he made famous around the Twin Cities.

Hundreds are gathered outside Paisley Park in Chanhassen, where he passed away Thursday morning. Prince built the complex in 1987 to serve as his recording and video production studios. He also lived in the building in recent years.

First Avenue will hold its third all-night dance party, which is expected to start Sunday morning at about 1:30 a.m. after Bob Mould's concert.

"Purple Rain" will be showing at several Twin Cities theaters this weekend, including Mall of America, St. Anthony Main, Chanhassen Five Star Cinemas and at most AMC Theaters.

Fans are also heading to Target Field Station for a free screening of the classic film at 8 p.m. There will be musical performances before the movie, starting at 6:30.

Sabathani Community Center and 89.9 KMOJ Radio are planning a block party to celebrate Prince on Saturday, April 30.
