Twins Hitters Honor Prince With Walk-Up Songs Monday Night

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins honored music icon Prince late last week by showing their digital signs at Target Field in purple while the team was on a five-game road trip.

The Twins have more tributes planned as they are back home Monday night to host the Cleveland Indians. Among them is to have all players in the batting order have their walk-up music be a Prince song.

Twins officials said Joe Mauer's song Monday will be "7," which matches his jersey number. Stay tuned, the Twins have not announced the walk-up songs for the other eight players in the batting order.

Eduardo Nunez will lead off and walk up to "1999." Brian Dozier will hit second and chose "Purple Rain." After Mauer and "7," Miguel Sano is hitting clean-up and walking up to "Kiss." Byung-Ho Park will bat fifth and walk up to "Uptown." Oswaldo Arcia is hitting sixth and his walk-up song will be "I Would Die 4 You."

Eduardo Escobar is hitting seventh and his walk-up song is "Little Red Corvette." Kurt Suzuki is hitting eighth and walking up to "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World," and Danny Santana will hit ninth and walk up to "When Doves Cry."

The Twins will also hold a moment of silence before Monday night's game at Target Field. The Wild did the same tribute before their playoff game against the Dallas Stars on Sunday.
