Lynx Sign 5 Honorary Members To 'Dream Team'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Lynx held a special news conference on Sunday that involved some surprising signings.

The Lynx signed five kids from five various community organizations, including Minnesota Adopt, Hope Kids, the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, Special Olympics and Defending the Blue line.

All the kids were signed to honorary contracts to form a dream team, and all the kids got a chance to hang around and not only watch, but take part in the Lynx practice session at their Mayo Clinic facility in downtown Minneapolis.

"In order for these five to be even considered, there's a couple things that champions do. I mentioned passion, you have to have passion for what you're doing," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "A really big one is perseverance. And obviously you can't say enough about these five individuals. They demonstrate perseverance on a daily basis. Champions do that."
