The Current To Honor Prince With Nationwide Simulcast

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis radio station The Current is planning to honor Prince with a nationwide simulcast of one of the late musician's biggest hits.

On Wednesday, May 4, at 5:07 p.m. CT, The Current and several other stations across the country will play "Nothing Compares 2 U." The time was chosen because it signifies "7 hours and 13 days" -- a lyric from the song -- since Prince's death.

Stations that have already joined in on the simulcast include KEXP in Seattle, WXPN in Philadelphia, WFUV in New York, KKXT in Dallas, KUTX in Austin and Radio Milwaukee.

Stations will play Prince's version of the song, which was released on his album "The Hits," not Sinead O'Connor's more well-known version.

You can tune in to The Current on 89.3, or stream it here.
