Nearly 2,800 Without Power In Dakota County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Thousands of people woke up without power Monday morning.

According to the Dakota Electric Association, a power outage affected the Apple Valley and Lakeville areas just after 5:30 a.m. Monday. They said the Dodd Park substation was lost and 6,722 were without power.

Just before 6 a.m., power had been restored to most members.

However, 2,800 are still without power.

Dakota Electric said their average outage restoration is about two hours, but depending on the cause restoration time could vary.
