MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota high school students will be voting for the next president of the United States.

Secretary of State Steve Simon says more than 130 schools have signed up to participate in Minnesota Students Vote, the first ever statewide mock election for high school students.

The students will get hands-on experience with the electoral process. Results will be announced shortly before Election Day.

Simon says there is a lot of interest in this year's election. He expects more high schools will sign up to participate in Minnesota Students Vote.
