State Patrol Helps Two Women Give Birth

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The State Patrol helped get two families to the hospital over the weekend -- but not because of an accident.

Two troopers helped deliver two healthy baby boys.

The first was on Saturday on Highway 77 in Minneapolis. Trooper Jason Theel helped a woman in labor until paramedics got there and delivered the baby on the side of the freeway.

The second was on Sunday along I-90 near Worthington. Trooper James Orlando was making a traffic stop when a car pulled up and a man jumped out saying his wife was about to give birth.

By the time they got to the car, it had already happened.
