Sheriff: Woman Found Dead Near Lewiston, Man In Custody

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 24-year-old woman is dead and a 23-year-old man is in custody on probable cause second-degree intentional murder after an incident in southeastern Minnesota, according to the Winona County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities were called about a possible homicide at 6:22 p.m. Friday. An investigation led to officers searching for the woman and at about 8 p.m., they found the victim's body in a wooded area about three-quarters of a mile off the road near the intersection of County Roads 25 and 23 near Lewiston.

The Winona County Sheriff's Office identified the woman Sunday as Tasha Lynn Anderson. The suspect in the incident was identified as Kyle Benjamin Allers.

The circumstances leading up to Anderson's death are unclear, but Allers could be charged in Winona County Court on Monday. The case remains under investigation.
