More than 4,000 youth are homeless in Minnesota on any given night and close to 30 percent identify as LGBTQ. The United Way Arise Project gives homeless youth (the majority of which are in the 13- to 17-years-old) the basics – a safe place to sleep, food and things like bus tokens and undergarments.
