Prince Memorial Items At Paisley Park To Be Preserved

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After Prince's death at Paisley Park in April, fans flocked to his home and recording studio to memorialize the Minnesota music icon.

Fans covered the fence surrounding Paisley Park with memorials, including signs, paintings, flowers and much more. Bremer Trust, Special Administrator for Prince's estate, announced Friday that they will preserve some of the items placed on the Paisley Park fence.

"Prince is an important part of Minnesota's cultural history, and we want to ensure that these memorial artifacts survive intact," said Bremer Trust President Craig Ordal in a press release.

An archivist and a team of volunteers will begin removing memorial items from the fence on Friday. Bremer does not plan to publicly display the items at this time, but they will be preserved for future generations.

Items chosen include photographs, decorative signs, paintings and flowers.
