Authorities ID Body In Lakeville Suspicious Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Lakeville Police Department is investigating after a man was found lying on a roadway dead early Tuesday morning.

Authorities received a report at about 5:30 a.m. of a man lying along the roadway near the intersection of County Road 46 and Galaxie Avenue in Lakeville. When officers arrived, they found the body of a dead man lying in the grass next to a walking path near the intersection.

Authorities say there were no signs of trauma and the man's death doesn't appear to be caused by a traffic-related incident.

On Wednesday, police identified the man as 23-year-old Abale Gebremeskal Mulat of Rosemount, Minnesota.

There is no cause of death from the medical examiner yet.

Lakeville police are investigating the incident as a suspicious death due to where the man was found. Authorities say they are exploring the possibility of an accidental overdose. The man has not been identified.
