3 Arrested In Connection To Beating Death Of Buffalo Teenager

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Wright County say three people are in custody in connection to the beating death of a teenager from Buffalo.

Sheriff Joe Hagerty said Sunday that 19-year-old Cheyenne Clough died Saturday after suffering significant injuries in an assault earlier in the week at Crow Springs County Park. The teenager had been hospitalized since Wednesday after a child heading to school found her wounded that morning near the park entrance.

Hagerty said two people sought in connection to the assault – 28-year-old Justin Jensen and 33-year-old Natasha Brandenburger, both of Maple Lake – were found early Sunday in Koochiching County along the Canadian border.

A third suspect, 26-year-old Edward Zelko of Buffalo, was also arrested in traffic stop, Hagerty said. He is being held in connection to the assault case.

Authorities are continuing to search for a vehicle Jensen and Brandenburger were thought to have been using. It is described as a 2008 white Honda Accord with Iowa license plate number AXK-248. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Wright County Sheriff's Office at 763-682-1162.

Hagerty says the case remains under investigation.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover funeral costs for Clough, who is the mother of a 3-year-old son. Donations can be made here.
