Man Claiming To Be Prince's Adopted Son Says Musician Had Will

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Since Prince's death, many have come forward claiming relations to the late musician. Now, a potential heir has stepped forward and said he knows Prince had a will.

Norman Yates Carthens filed documents in Carver County Court saying he is Prince's adopted son. Carthens' written statement also says he knows that Prince had a will and that the musician left him $7 million.

Carthens said he has proof of Prince's will.

On Monday, a judge approved a proposal put forward by the trust company handling Prince's estate that gives existing claimants until Friday to file sworn statements regarding their heirship.
