National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory For Friday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Get ready Minnesota. The hottest air of the year so far will be in the Twin Cities on Friday, and humidity is coming with it.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the seven county Twin Cities metro area from noon to 9 p.m. Friday. The advisory also includes counties in southern and western Minnesota.

It will be a scorcher with high temperatures getting into the low 90s and with high humidity, the heat index could get above 100 degrees. There is also a chance for strong to sever thunderstorms Friday night.

There won't be much relief on Saturday with a high again in the low 90s and steamy conditions expected.

We'll get slight relief on Sunday with a high in the upper 80s.
