Patrol: Woman, 85, Killed In Aitkin County Hit-And-Run
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are asking for the public's help after an 85-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash last Friday in Aitkin County.
The Minnesota State Patrol says it's believed the woman was hit by a car and killed near her mailbox, and they are asking anyone with information to come forward. Authorities say Margaret Ann Johnson was found dead near her mailbox on the shoulder of Highway 7 about 3.5 miles east of Aitkin.
Authorities say they believe the vehicle hit Johnson near the shoulder of the roadway and the driver may not have realized they hit somebody. Anyone who might have seen Johnson near her mailbox between noon and 1 p.m. last Friday should call the Minnesota State Patrol at (218) 316-3026 or the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office at (218) 927-7435.
The state patrol is also investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 10-year-old girl on the same day in Aitkin County.
