St. Cloud Library, Store Evacuated After Bomb Threats; Person Of Interest Sought

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A library and a retail store in St. Cloud were evacuated Saturday afternoon after separate bomb threats, which police describe as hoaxes that were likely related.

Police say someone phoned in a threat to the Great River Regional Library at about 12:30 p.m. The staff evacuated the building, but police and the St. Cloud Fire Department did not find anything suspicious inside.

The second phone threat was made about 30 minutes later to the Cash Wise on the 1000 block of 4th Street Southeast. Police and firefighters also did not find anything suspicious during a search.

Later in the evening, police announced they were seeking a person of interest in the case -- 31-year-old Matthew John Hull. He's described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 215 lbs.

Investigators say Hull is believed to be living in the Princeton area, and is possibly involved in another bomb threat on a St. Cloud Walmart last week.

If spotted, police say not to approach Hull and to use 911 only if necessary. Tips should be sent to your local law enforcement agency.
