Wis. Man Banding Hawks Rescued From Tree

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Wisconsin man who was banding birds this weekend found himself stuck up a tree.

Rescue workers were called in after the ornithologist was left hanging by his safety harness.

The man was banding protected Cooper's Hawk chicks near Milwaukee.

When the birds flew off, he fell.

Crews had to untangle the safety lines before bringing him down.

The hawks were tagged and returned to their nest.
