Xcel: 50,000 In Minn., Wis. Lost Power Due To Storms

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 50,000 people in Minnesota and Wisconsin lost power due to severe weather Saturday night, according to Xcel Energy.

The storms began Saturday afternoon and rolled through central and northern Minnesota. Most outages were due to high winds, Xcel said.

As of Sunday morning, crews had restored power to 42,000 people. Eighty crews were out restoring power on Sunday.

Xcel said they hope to restore power to all customers on Sunday.
