Ely Road Closed Due To Broken Beaver Dam

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A road in northern Minnesota is closed because of a broken beaver dam.

The dam broke loose near Ely, flooding Grant McMahan Boulevard, the St. Louis County Public Works Department said. The road is currently closed between Burntside Lodge Road and Schaeffer Road.

St. Louis County Public Works staff and sheriff's deputies are monitoring the situation and waiting for the water to recede to assess the damage.
