3 Arrested In Connection With S. Minneapolis Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Three people have been arrested in connection with a homicide on the city's south side last week.

Police arrested 50-year-old John Allen Davis, 21-year-old Marshawn Daevon Winston and 18-year-old Mashawn Leon Moore for the shooting death of 52-year-old James Jerome Salter.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, around 5 a.m. on July 7 officers found a man, later identified as Salter, down in the street at the intersection of 5th Avenue South and Lake Street.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said Salter died of a gunshot wound to the chest. The named the manner of death a homicide.

On July 9, police arrested Davis, Moore and Winston in connection with the homicide.

Davis, Moore and Winston were booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center on probable cause murder.
