Wander MN: Where To Find Pokemon In The Greater Metro

If you haven't been able to resist the siren call of Pokemon GO over the past week—and many of us have not—you've probably already figured out some of the logical places in the Twin Cities: the Mall of America, the University of Minnesota, or the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, for example. But there are plenty of places outside the main metro to ratchet up your Pokemon count. Here are a few ideas. (And remember to stay safe and be respectful of private property.)

Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Out on the Chanhassen/Chaska border, the Arboretum is a logical place for Pokemon to hide. Among its many trails, leafy areas, prairies, and other exhibits, you'll find tons of the pocket monsters. But not just that—the Arb also has numerous Pokestops and gyms.

Valleyfair
Come to Shakopee for the rides, stay for the Pokemon. Lots of Pokestops and lures that are out in public, making them safer.

J. Arthur's Coffee
This Roseville coffee shop is a Pokestop—and if you let them know you're playing Pokemon Go, you might be eligible for a discount on coffee.

Purgatory Creek Park
This oasis of nature near the heart of Eden Prairie's business center not only provides a beautiful afternoon walk, but several opportunities to capture Pokemon.

Hansen Park
Over in New Brighton, this city park is crammed with Pokemon too.

Maple Grove Library and Community Center
Pokemon, Pokestops, and gyms.

Centennial Lakes Park
This pretty natural area near Edina's Southdale (which also has Pokemon galore) has not only Pokemon, but plenty of Pokestops as well.

Minnesota Zoo
Not surprisingly, the Minnesota Zoo, home to all kinds of wildlife, is now also home to all kinds of Pokelife.
